For this blog I am going to be splitting it up into 2 main categories; recipes and how to save money. My goal is to post a minimum of 2 posts a week one for each category. I am hoping to post "Money Savers" on Tuesdays and "Recipes" on Friday. Because this is an important aspect of my life now, I am also wanting to do posts like this one which I will call "Food For Thought"

So why a blog about food? Food is such a funny thing! For those who do not know, I have a hypothyroid, meaning my thyroid is slow. With Covid-19 slowing me down and freeing up a lot of my time, I have been able to cook a lot more, doing a lot of it from scratch. Even though I was eating healthier I started gaining weight, which lets me know my thyroid is off. I go into my doctor and after some blood work, he lowers my medication dosage. A few weeks pass and I gained some more weight. I go to get tested again and it is a little low. Now I am on the correct dosage, losing weight again and feeling better!
It amazes me how so many of us do not think about food other than calories, fats, and carbs. I am actually eating more of all 3, but I have cut out the chemicals, processed foods and preservatives, and my body is already trying to heal itself. I truly believe God has created our food to be exactly what our bodies need and we all go and muck it up with garbage ingredients to give food a longer shelf life at the price of us having a healthy life. I have talked to so many people lately who have simply changed their diet and seen drastic improvement to their, or their loved one’s health.
I am not a doctor, and am not giving any medical advice, please leave that to your doctors. What I am promoting is a healthier, cheaper, and more flavorful way of eating that had a wonderful side effect of benefiting my health. I am looking forward to this new food adventure and hope you come along with me on this great adventure of food, saving money, and all the life benefits that follow.
Be well,
Jacque
